ISE Scotland and the North brings together employers, universities and suppliers from a variety of sectors to support the promotion of early career opportunities in Scotland and the North.
Quarterly meetings are organised by the steering group, as listed below, and all members based in Scotland and the North are very welcome to attend and contribute to the discussions.

Deborah McCormack (Chair)
Deborah McCormack is the Head of Recruitment & Graduate Development at Pinsent Masons. Originally a Corporate Solicitor, practising in both London and Scotland, Deborah joined McGrigors’ in 2003 and took responsibility for McGrigors’ Learning & Development and graduate functions before the business merged with Pinsent Masons. Deborah’s current remit takes in graduate recruitment strategy, graduate development, lateral recruitment and e-learning UK-wide.
Gary Anderson (Vice Chair)
Gary Anderson is the Graduate Programme Manager for Jacobs UK Limited and has been involved in Graduate Recruitment for the last 15 years. A Chartered member of CIPD he has been involved with ISE Scotland for the last 12 years and has also has a wider remit in his current role supporting engineering recruitment across the UK.
Kirstyn Love is the Recruitment Manager for ScottishPower, with responsibility for the recruitment operations across the UK including graduate recruitment. Kirstyn joined ScottishPower in 2006 and holds extensive experience within recruitment and HR roles over the last fifteen years. Kirstyn has an Engineering degree, is BPS Level A and B qualified and has been involved with the ISE for the last twelve months.
Hazel McAllister is an Employer Engagement Adviser at the University of Strathclyde. Prior to joining the Careers Service, Hazel worked in generalist Human Resources roles before specialising in resourcing, both graduate and experienced hire within global, national and SMEs across the insurance, professional service, financial services and technology sectors.Hazel is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, AGCAS and is Level A & B and MBTI qualified and has been an active member of ISE since 1999.
Jeff Lovejoy has been working within the graduate recruitment market for the last 7 years beginning at Enterprise Rent A Car for London to Scotland and Northern Ireland to his current role with FDM Group as the UK & Ireland Recruitment Manager. FDM is the largest IT graduate recruiter in the UK. Jeff leads a team that recruits around 1000+ graduates per year; in 2016, they received over 55,000 applications in the UK alone. He is passionate about supporting graduates in their search for careers and speaks regularly on such topics as diversity and inclusion in technology, career advice and personal branding at conferences and events around the UK.
Kay Jones has been Assistant Director of Newcastle University Careers Service since September 2015 and has strategic responsibility for business engagement, student employment (including placements), marketing, events and communications. Kay has held a number of senior roles in Newcastle University over the past ten years, prior to which she worked in retail, recruitment and commercial sports & hospitality management.
